About Luminance

You know what’s interesting? Light. How our eyes see light is not linear but logarithmic, which is why we can see more than a camera when looking at something that is light and shaded at the same time (think about that the next time you use your car’s backup camera when it’s sunny outside). However, things get confusing because something can put out a certain amount of light but if that light doesn’t hit your eye, it doesn’t seem bright, so we have to pay attention to where that light is oriented and how large of an area the light is displayed.
