Lessons in Electric Circuits: Volume II - AC
by Tony R. Kuphaldt | 17 Chapters
In this second volume of six open-source textbook, Tony R. Kuphaldt continues to teach and explore the world of circuits but with alternating current. Alternating current makes certain materials and components act differently than one would expect after working with DC circuits. In this textbook, he introduces the fundamentals of AC theory and reviews complex numbers before diving headfirst into reactance and impedance of inductors and capacitors. With the knowledge of how these components work with AC signals, he opens up a world of practical possibilities by showing how these concepts can make motors, filters, transmission lines, and even explains how transformers (which have literally transformed our lives - terrible pun intended) function. We decided to integrate these open-source volumes into the CircuitBread platform as we have reviewed this book and think it is an invaluable addition to electrical engineering textbooks. We hope we add to its value by creating a great user experience with additional features like lightning fast page turning, bookmarking, content highlighting, glossaries, and note-taking. We continue to be grateful for the work that he has done and hope that our interface makes it easier for everyone to better learn from the text itself.
